Find a NBCS or Night Nurse

  • A Newborn Care Specialist is a professional with either specialized training or extensive practical experience, focused on supporting newborns and their families through the critical first few months. These specialists are equipped to handle newborn health, developmental milestones, feeding, sleep routines, and soothing strategies, ensuring comprehensive care for the baby.

  • Yes, Newborn Care Specialists come from a variety of professional backgrounds. Certified NBCSs have completed specific training programs that equip them with the latest best practices and knowledge in newborn care. Additionally, we also collaborate with experienced nannies, many of whom have adapted to specialized roles such as night-time care, bringing valuable hands-on experience. This combination ensures that our network includes professionals who are not only certified but also seasoned in practical, real-world newborn care.

  • Beyond their caregiving role, Newborn Care Specialists act as invaluable advisors for new parents. They ease the transition into parenthood by offering expert guidance and support, covering everything from basic baby care to navigating the new dynamics of family life.

  • Contracts for Newborn Care Specialists typically range from a few weeks to several months, depending on the family's needs and preferences. There's also the flexibility to extend these contracts into long-term arrangements if families find that the support is beneficial beyond the initial period.

  • Newborn Care Specialists should be booked in advance to ensure availability when you need them. Considering the specialist's schedule and the demand for experienced caregivers, it's wise to start the booking process as early as possible. This foresight allows for a smoother transition and ensures the specialist can integrate seamlessly into your family's routine.

Find a Full-Time or Rotational Nanny

  • The primary difference lies in the scheduling and continuity of care. Full-time Nannies provide consistent, daily care to children, establishing a stable routine. Rota-Nanny placements, on the other hand, involve a schedule where the nanny alternates between periods of work and time off, such as one week on followed by one week off. This model offers flexibility, ensuring that families have continuous support while allowing nannies to have regular breaks.

  • Opting for a long-term nanny role provides children with stability and consistency in their care. It allows for the development of a deep, trusting relationship between the nanny and the child, which is instrumental in the child's emotional and social development.

  • A Rota-Nanny typically works on a one-week-on/one-week-off schedule. This arrangement ensures that the family receives continuous support while allowing the nanny balanced rest periods, ideal for families and nannies looking for flexibility.

  • Typically full-time is between 40-55 hours a week.. Hours can be adjusted based on the specific agreement between the family and the nanny to meet the family's needs.

  • The search for the perfect nanny can take anywhere from 1 week to 2 months, depending on the specific needs and requirements of the family. Our goal is to ensure a perfect match, taking into consideration the family's lifestyle, values, and the children's needs.

It's ideal for families that need extra help during specific times of the day, enhancing the overall childcare/school setup.

What you need to know before starting your nanny search:

01 — Competitive Wages

In order to attract the best candidates for our clients, we can only engage with clients who can offer competitive wages. For most metropolitan areas in the United States, this is between $25-$35 per hour.

02 — Legal Pay

Legal pay goes beyond fair compensation; it also plays a crucial role in safeguarding families from potential lawsuits and preserving their professional integrity and licensure. By adhering to tax regulations and employment laws, families can avoid legal complications that may arise from non-compliance. It’s a lot easier and more affordable than you may think!

03 — Engagement Deposit

Once we determine your family is a good fit for the agency, a deposit of $497 is required to begin your search. This deposit secures your spot on our client list and will later be applied toward your final placement fee.

04 — Agency Fee

Whether you contracted your nanny months before your baby’s birth or are hiring an after-school sitter this week, the agency placement fee is due upon acceptance of a formal offer.

05 — Prepayment Deposit For NBCS

Depending on your timeline, an additional deposit, held by the agency, might be requested when booking your NBCS in advance of your birth. To guarantee coverage by a NBCS of your choice, we highly suggest booking at least three months in advance.
