Position Overview & Family

Warm and collaborative family in Hewlett, NY seeking an experienced, patient, and highly engaged weekday nanny to provide attentive afternoon and evening care fo three children ages 3, 5, and 8. The family values consistency, communication, and a team-oriented approach to caregiving They are looking for someone who will be a dependable, proactive presence in their children's daily lives. One child is on the autism spectrum, and experience supporting neurodivergent children in a respectful and encouraging way is strongly preferred for this role.

Schedule & Location

Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Position is located in Hewlett, NY (Nassau. County, Long Island). A valid driver's license and reliable driving record are require; driving children to activities and appointments a large part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for three children with varying developmental needs

  • Support a 5-year-old child on the autism spectrum, including AAC device usage and communication development

  • Assist with timed bathroom breaks while encouraging independence and confidence with toileting skills

  • Collaborate with existing support staff and parents to maintain consistency in routines and care

  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children

  • Assist with after-school routines, activities, homework support, and bedtime preparation

  • Create a calm, structured, and engaging environment

  • Drive children to and from activities, appointments, and outings as needed

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; must be comfortable driving children regularly

  • Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with AAC devices and communication support a significant plus, but not required.

  • Calm, confident, and able to take initiative

  • Warm, playful, and highly dependable

  • Strong communication skills and team-player mentality

  • Able to maintain consistent routines and collaborate with a care team

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35–$40/hour, depending on experience

  • Guaranteed 30 hours per week

  • 2 weeks paid PTO

  • 3 paid sick days

  • Paid major holidays
