Position Overview

Brooklyn Manny and Nanny is seeking an experienced newborn care professional for a warm Bay Ridge family welcoming twin infants. Both parents are home during the day, so this role is truly about partnership — a calm, capable second set of hands who brings genuine relief, steady newborn expertise, and the confidence to manage two babies at once. This is a six-month contract position, ideal for a caregiver who loves the newborn stage and thrives in a collaborative household.

Family/Household

The family welcomed twins one month ago, both born prematurely. One parent is home full time and the other works from home, and an older child is sometimes present — no childcare is needed for them. A sweet, well-trained 40 lb family dog is part of the household, so comfort around dogs is a must. The home is in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, an easy commute from deeper Brooklyn or Lower Manhattan.

Schedule & Location

Three days per week, eight hours per day (approximately 24 hours weekly). The family is flexible on which days. Start date is late September to early October, with the contract running approximately six months.

Location: Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for twin infants

  • Support combination feeding and paced bottle feeding, including tandem feeding both babies

  • Prepare and sanitize bottles and feeding supplies

  • Manage the babies' laundry

  • Maintain general upkeep and organization of the babies' spaces

  • Provide coverage so parents can run errands and attend appointments

  • Work alongside parents throughout the day with clear, warm communication

Requirements

  • Strong professional newborn experience, ideally including premature infants

  • Comfort and skill with combination feeding and paced bottle feeding, including feeding two babies simultaneously

  • Approximately 5 years of professional childcare experience — depth of newborn knowledge matters more than years on paper

  • Current CPR certification

  • Calm, warm, and proactive presence; unfazed by the natural chaos of newborn twins

  • Comfortable in a home with a friendly, well-trained dog

  • Strong, verifiable references

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

  • Rate: $40 per hour

  • Approximately 24 hours per week (three 8-hour days)

  • Six-month contract position
