Position Overview

Brooklyn Manny & Nanny is seeking a hybrid nanny and house manager for a warm, active family in South Slope, Brooklyn. The household includes two children, ages 5 and 7, and a family dog, and the family is looking for someone who can move easily between hands-on, creative childcare and light household support, becoming a true extension of their day-to-day routine.

Schedule & Location

This part-time position runs Monday through Thursday, with 20 hours guaranteed weekly, starting September 8th. The role is based in South Slope, with daily school pickup in North Slope. Occasional flexibility for later hours or school holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaged, age-appropriate care for two children, ages 5 and 7

  • Handle daily school pickup in North Slope

  • Transport the 5-year-old to weekly occupational therapy appointments

  • Support light household tasks, including laundry, tidying, and organizing

  • Prepare simple meals for the children

  • Comfortably interact with the family's dog as part of the daily routine

  • Take initiative in helping the household run smoothly

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of professional childcare experience

  • Valid driver's license and comfort driving for school pickups and appointments

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

  • Must love dogs

  • Warm, organized, and dependable with strong communication skills

  • Strong references that can attest to reliability and initiative

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35 per hour, with 20 hours guaranteed weekly

  • Overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 hrs/wk (possibly when on school breaks)

  • Paid sick leave in accordance with NYC law
