Hybrid Nanny & Household Manager for Two Boys | Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn | $35/hr

Position Overview

Our client in Carroll Gardens is seeking a warm, high-energy hybrid nanny and household manager to join their family starting in September. This is a wonderful opportunity for a proactive, experienced caregiver who thrives in a dynamic household and genuinely loves caring for bright, active young children. The family has two spirited, independent boys — ages 4.5 and 2 — who bring big energy and even bigger personalities to every part of the day.

Schedule & Location

Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM | 40 guaranteed hours per week
Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn — approximately a 15-minute walk to the local preschool. Easily accessible by public transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage morning household tasks during school hours, including tidying living spaces, putting away children's laundry, organizing toys and bookshelves, and donating outgrown clothing

  • Meal prep dinners for the children and handle light grocery runs for household staples as needed

  • Pick up the younger child at 11:30 AM, serve lunch, and facilitate nap time

  • Pick up the older child at 3:00 PM (with younger sibling) and coordinate afternoon activities such as karate, park outings, and playdates

  • Support the evening routine including dinner, bath, and bedtime

  • Communicate regularly and openly with parents about the children's day, development, and needs

  • Implement the older child's OT-informed coping strategies and support emotional regulation throughout the day

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional childcare experience

  • Experience caring for toddlers and preschool-age children simultaneously

  • Familiarity with emotional regulation strategies; experience with declarative language or OT-informed caregiving is a strong plus

  • Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable taking initiative during child-free hours

  • High energy, warm, and patient — someone who can genuinely engage and keep up with two bright, active boys

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required

  • Must be comfortable with a cat in the home (no pet allergies)

  • French-speaking is a wonderful bonus, but not required

  • Strong professional references required

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35.00/hour | $1,400/week (40 hours guaranteed)

  • 2 weeks paid time off

  • 3 paid sick days

  • Major paid holidays

  • 40-hour weekly guarantee
