Position Overview

A warm, professional family in Park Slope is seeking an engaging afterschool nanny

for their two children, ages 11 and 13. This part-time position offers consistent

weekday hours with opportunities for additional hours during school breaks and

occasional evening coverage. The ideal candidate brings "big sister energy"—fun,

engaging, and nurturing while maintaining professionalism.

Schedule & Location

Monday through Friday with flexible scheduling:

● Three days: 2:30 PM - 7:00 PM (4.5 hours)

● Two days: 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM (3.5 hours)

● Consistent 20.5 hours weekly with opportunities for additional hours during

school breaks

● Occasional evening coverage as needed for parent's work events

● Located in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Responsibilities

● School pick-up from Brooklyn Heights at 2:30 PM or 3:30 PM depending on the

day

● Transport children to after-school activities via walking or public transit

● Serve dinner (typically pre-prepared) and handle kitchen cleanup

● Provide homework support and facilitate age-appropriate activities

● Engage children with positive energy and serve as a role model

● Maintain flexibility for occasional late evening coverage when parents are

traveling

Requirements

● Minimum 3 years of professional childcare experience

● Experience working with tweens and teens strongly preferred

● Comfortable supporting homework and facilitating age-appropriate activities

● Reliable, flexible, and professional demeanor

● Ability to navigate Brooklyn via walking and public transit (no driver's license

required)

● Fun, engaging personality with "big sister energy"

● Strong references that demonstrate reliability and experience with this age

group

Compensation & Benefits

● Hourly rate: $30-$35 per hour based on experience

● 5 paid time off days

● 3 paid sick days

● Opportunities for additional hours during school breaks

● Occasional evening hours available at the same rate
