Experienced Doula/NCS for Newborn

A warm, experienced Doula/Night Care Specialist is needed for a professional couple

in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn expecting their first child in March 2026. This 12-week

overnight position offers the opportunity to support a new family during the critical

early weeks of parenthood, providing expert newborn care and lactation support.

Overnight care position from early March through early June 2026 (12 weeks total).

Hours are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a progressively decreasing schedule: Weeks 1-4

require 6 nights per week, Weeks 5-8 require 5 nights per week, and Weeks 9-12

require 4 nights per week. The position is located in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, in an

apartment setting, easily accessible by public transportation.

Tentative Start Date: March 9, 2026 (may adjust based on birth)

● Provide attentive overnight newborn care in 12-hour shifts

● Support feeding through bottle and breastfeeding assistance

● Perform diaper changes and maintain infant hygiene care

● Implement appropriate sleep training techniques

● Monitor and document developmental milestones

● Maintain light housekeeping related to baby including laundry, bottle cleaning,

and nursery organization

● Keep detailed daily logs and communicate effectively with parents about

baby's progress

● Provide lactation support and guidance to new parents

● Offer postpartum emotional support and education to family

● *Doula certification required* (completed certification from a recognized

program)

● Night Care Specialist certification or exceptional newborn care experience

required

● Demonstrated expertise in newborn care and overnight care

● Comfortable with 12-hour overnight shifts

● Current CPR and First Aid certification required

● Lactation support experience strongly preferred

● Strong communication skills and ability to maintain detailed logs

● Legal authorization to work in the United States required

● Up-to-date vaccinations required

● Excellent references from previous newborn care positions

● Hourly rate: $45/hour

● Overtime pay at 1.5x rate for hours over 40 per week

● Paid via payroll

● 12-week temporary contract position
