Position Overview
An experienced and engaging nanny or manny is needed for our client-family who just relocated from California to Brooklyn Heights! This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with two bright school-age children - an exuberant 8-year-old boy who loves all things science, and a creative, thoughtful 5-year-old girl. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting twice-exceptional children and excel at fostering curiosity, matching their joyful energy, and providing co-regulation during moments of emotional overwhelm
Compensation & Benefits
Schedule: Full-time with variable schedule averaging 45 hours per week, ranging from 32-60 hours per week depending on school calendar. General schedule falls on Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 9:00 pm during school weeks (30 weeks per year) with extended coverage during school closure weeks (22 weeks per year). Flexibility for extended coverage during spring break, coordination of two different school calendars with varying closure days throughout the year, and flexibility to stay past 9:00 PM when needed will be key.

Schedule & Location
Full-time position with variable schedule averaging 48.5 hours/week, ranging from 32-60 hours per week depending on multi-school calendar. Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM - 9:00 PM during school year (30 weeks), with extended coverage during school closures and summer (22 weeks). Flexibility for overtime support during school holidays, summer coverage, and additional support when coordinating two different school calendars will be key. Flexibility to stay past 9:00 PM when needed will also be important. Additional coverage required during school closure days, including winter break, spring break, and professional development days. Located in vibrant Brooklyn Heights with excellent access to parks, museums, and community resources. Start date: August 17, 2025 (Flexible start date)
Responsibilities
School pick-up coordination from two different schools
Afterschool care and supervision
Dinner preparation and family mealtime support
Facilitate neighborhood activities and learning/fun opportunities
Coordinating playdates and helping to foster new friendships
Evening routines and bedtime coordination
Light tidying and organization of children's spaces
Requirements
Minimum 3+ years of professional childcare experience with school-age children
Experience working with twice-exceptional children strongly preferred
Strong skills in emotional regulation techniques and patience with big feelings
Interest in science, weather, and space exploration to engage curious minds
Current CPR certification required
College education preferred
Excellent communication skills with children and parents
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to swim without the aid of a flotation device
Valid drivers licsence
Valid passport required for potential travel opportunities
Strong references that can attest to reliability and specialized childcare skills
