Hybrid Nanny & Household Manager for Two Children Upper West Side, Manhattan | $35–40/hr

A warm, energetic, and experienced caregiver is needed for a wonderful family on the Upper West Side with two children — a spirited 5-year-old son and an active 2-year-old daughter. This is a unique hybrid nanny and household manager role: while both children are in school, the focus shifts to household upkeep, grocery shopping, and meal prep before transitioning to hands-on childcare from pickup through the evening routine. The ideal candidate is someone who can seamlessly move between keeping the household running smoothly and providing engaged, creative care for two fun, high-energy kids.

Schedule & Location

Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Fridays, 2:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Approximately 18.5 hours per week. The position is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, easily accessible by public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Pick up both children from school and daycare (daycare is one block from home; school pickup is in the neighborhood)

• Provide engaged, hands-on care for both children through the full evening routine

• During school and afterschool hours (approximately 3:00–5:00 PM), handle household tasks including children's laundry, organizing clothing and toys, grocery shopping, and meal prep

• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities — imaginative play, songs, math games, reading, and creative storytelling

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children

• Keep children's spaces tidy, organized, and running smoothly

• Communicate openly with parents about the children's day, development, and any needs

Requirements

• Previous professional experience in a nanny or household manager role

• Fluent English required

• Comfortable in a hybrid role — able to shift seamlessly between household management tasks and engaged, active childcare

• Physically active and high-energy — able to keep up with two spirited, fun kids

• Experience or comfort working with sensory-seeking children preferred — the family's son works with an occupational therapist, and someone who can engage enthusiastically with sensory play is a big plus

• Confident, creative storyteller and reader — bonus if you love making up songs and imaginative games

• Warm, reliable, and experienced with toddler and preschool-age children

• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Legal authorization to work in the United States
