Start Date: Flexible, targeting the second week of July or upon finding the right candidate.

Compensation: Weekly gross earnings range from $675 to $875, depending on scheduled hours. The base hourly rate is $30-35 based on a split schedule M-F: 2:30 pm- 7pm. Opportunity to accommodate candidates with slightly varied schedules as long as core hours from 4-7 pm are available M- F. Possibility to evolve into an after-school-only schedule come fall.  Additional compensation includes annual raises, renegotiation for change in hours, and performance-based bonuses.

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and nurturing Afterschool Nanny or Manny to join an active family on the Upper East Side. This role requires managing afternoon routines for one child age 6(boy). The ideal candidate will find this schedule particularly advantageous if they are pursuing further education or have personal projects. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is starting their nanny career, has their own small business, or is in school.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

  • Opportunity to accommodate candidates with slightly varied schedules as long as core hours from 4pm-7 pm are available M- F.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle school pickups, supervise after-school activities, arrange playdates, and oversee dinner and night-time routines.

  • Light Housekeeping: Manage a tidy workspace, handle son’s laundry, and take care of loading and unloading the dishwasher when needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in childcare, with references. This can include, camp counselor, babysitting, tutor, daycare work, teacher’s assistant, and is not limited to professional nanny experience.

  • A lifestyle or career that accommodates a part-time work schedule.

  • Ability to integrate into the family’s daily life and become a core part of their ecosystem.

  • Must be active, fun, engaging, and reliable.

  • Excellent communication skills and adept at using technology to manage schedules and stay connected.

  • Bonus points to candidates who can, on occasion, come in for full days as needed.

  • Must be comfortable with pets, as the family owns an 18-year-old terrier.
